The KIND Foundation uses the Orton Gillingham approach, which has proven to be extremely successful with our students. Developed by Samuel T. Orton, a neurologist and Anna Gillingham, a gifted educator and psychologist, this approach is a language based, structured, multi-sensory, and sequential intervention for children struggling readers.

There are so many people who require an alternate way of learning that being trained in the Orton Gillingham approach can revolutionize a student's attitude toward learning and improve their educational outcomes.

For more information about Orton Gillingham or how to become trained instructor please call us or go the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners and Educators: www.ortonacademy.org.

The KIND Foundation's doors are open to all teachers who would like to come in and observe an Orton-Gillingham session or learn about how they better help their students. Also, if you are interested in doing after-school tutoring please call us.

The KIND Foundation has a variety of materials that teachers are welcome in and review.

If you have a student that you suspect could be dyslexic please encourage the parents to call us for a screening evaluation. Profiling their strengths and weakness as soon as possible will lead to earlier success in education as well as keep their self esteem intact, which will thus make their educational path easier.

The KIND Foundation encourages research in learning about dyslexia and understanding its effects. Listed below are many valuable websites about learning disabilities.
